Final Project Idea

I am thinking about creating a huge lipstick made out of poster paper and placing my photos on top to create a lipstick collage. I plan on taking some more photos for my final project. I will outline about 20 lipsticks shapes to create my book. I plan on placing at least 2-5 images per page, based on the theme selection.

After discussing with my classmates and my professor about possible ideas, I finally decided use an empty lipstick tube and place my art coming out of it like the actual lipstick. I will have a sketch of what I actually plan to do for class because I ordered the empty lipstick containers online. The pictures below are photos that I know I want to use for my final project. I do plan on using maybe two more images that I take this week.

  • 20-30 new prints due in class PLUS
  • Book format due via blog post:
    • 5+ sentence written proposal describing how you will print, bind and format your book
    • 3+ images/sketches showing how your book will be printed, constructed, bound and presented. These could be:
      • Hand or computer drawn sketches of what you want the finished book to look like
      • Reference images of other books made similarly
  • 6 image selects for final due as blog post (post six images that show your "best of" so far, that you will definitely use in your book.)

My artist for my Oral Presentation

I chose Eugene Richards because I was intrigued by his work from the recent exhibit I attended. A few of his pieces from his exhibit spoke volumes to me and I was eager to learn more about his journey.
