1. His thesis was about how we interpret photography. 

2. Barett uses other artists as examples and he also uses terminology to define the meaning of photography terms. 

3. a) Description of the entire photograph as a whole, breaking it down in its entirety. 
b) Subject matter- this describes what the photograph represents, digging deeper into its true representation. 
c) Form- Specifications of the photographs, such as how light reflects on a particular piece. 
d) Medium- How a picture can be twisted and changed to represent a different theme
e) Style- The personal style and aesthetic of an artist. 

4) When comparing and contrasting between artist, you are able to distinguish uniqueness and/or similarities 

5) a) What I understood from Barett's position in regards to description and interpretation that they should be analyzed as "arguments". 
b) To understand the subject as a whole 

6) I feel the author was trying to give us a breakdown of the art and to help us understand and appreciate it. 
b. I learned that every artist is different. I got a better understanding of certain terminology. 
c) Barrett's conclusion that there are many ways to view art and the only way to see it is with your own eyes. 
My reaction to the material, It was very informative and gave me a better understanding of the class.
