1)Barett's theory is that there are many ways of understanding art. Everyone has their own way of making art relatable to them
2) Barrett provides comparisons between art and artist with insight on how to dissect a particular piece.
3) He uses the images and the importance of the art and how we are able to determine what were the intentions of the artist.
4) The importance of criticism of photographs is the opinion of the critique and how it can possibly influence you to believe that their interpretation of the piece is accurate. It can give you more insight into a piece as well.
5) What stood out to me was how art can be perceived. Mostly how when you look at a piece over and over again, and understanding the inspiration, you can truly appreciate the art more.
6) Barrett debates that all artist are not one in the same. Some may be more skillful and thought out and others might not have as much expertise. Some interpretations can be frowned upon and considered "wrong" while others can be the total opposite.
